It is great to have these images, and know that other people still feel the way we do about the brand. All images and quotes have been used with the owners permission
How beautiful do these little girls look in their Laura Ashley dresses
These beautiful curtains were made by Catherine herself
" My earliest piece of Laura Ashley was when I was a Carnival Attendant to LLandiloes Carnival Queen age 13 in 1975. We wore Laura Ashley dresses as did many others over the following years. Mine is bright yellow with white lacing.
"Later, age 18, I went on to work in Carno in Production Planning. There were many visits from both Laura and Bernard to our office. One day Laura left her scarf over my chair, when I rang her to tell her she said Oh you have it. I did and still have it"
"Laura Ashley was a lovely lady, down to earth and treated her employees as friends"
These lovely photos were taken by Carolyn Lawrence of her childrens nurseries. They show many classic Laura Ashley designs
This beautiful quilt was made from leftover fabric by Marion Marshall. These images have been shared by her Grandaughter, Zoe Marshall, who now treasures it and the memories it gives of her Grandmother.
The company was strongly involved in the local community and it was common for them to sponsor projects such as this one. Possibly late 1970's
These now reside in the Welsh Quilt Centre
"My love for Laura Ashley from the 80's and 90's has never dwindled. I have been collecting some of the beautiful fabrics for years because I wanted to make a quilt of memories.
Some of the fabrics in this quilt were my childfrens' Wendy house curtains, nursery curtains, my dressing table when I was a teenager and various curtains that my Mum had in her house, they all fill mee with the most happy feelings"
